The Active Deterrence Series of cameras are perfect for those areas where you really need a security camera to be noticed, both visually and audibly. If you have areas that are constantly being vandalized or a highly sensitive area in which you really want possible intruders or loiterers to be notified they are on camera, you need to consider this camera. Think of copper theft on air conditioners, people parking where they shouldn’t be, people walking through restricted areas, and the list goes on.
Whatever your situation may be, this camera has integrated features like intelligent Human Detection, Vehicle Detection, Strobe Light Warnings, and Siren and Verbal warnings to fend off any would be intruders/loiterers. On top of that it captures crystal clear 4MP video at a smooth 30 FPS to provide clear and prosecutable evidence. Lets take a look at some of the features more in-depth:
INTELLIGENT HUMAN AND VEHICLE DETECTION
This takes traditional security camera pixel based motion detection and throws it out the window. With traditional Pixel Based Motion detection, you tend to get a lot of false motion alerts, whether it be bugs swarming the cameras, clouds going in front of the sun causing a major light change, or trees swaying in the wind. This camera is able to intelligently decipher between what would be considered a false motion detection event and what is actually a human or an automobile. You can choose to have the camera trigger an event based on Human or Vehicle detection at the same time, or choose to use either one of them alone.
For example, if you only want to trigger an event based on human movement and not cars, you can do that. Or if you want to trigger an event based on both human and car movement at the same time, you can do that as well. The choice is yours.
STROBE LIGHT WARNINGS BASED ON TRIGGERED EVENTS
You can choose to have the camera flash a very bright strobe light whenever it detects a human or a vehicle which would effectively warn away any would be intruders or loiterers. The strobe light times can be edited within the cameras interface.
SIREN AND VERBAL WARNINGS
Much like the stroble light warning, you can also choose to have the camera sound a siren or give an audible warning to the possible intruder once it detects a Human or a Vehicle. You can use this in conjunction with the strobe light if you wish.
Currently, the audible phrases available are (Loud Siren, “Warning, This is a restricted area”, “Warning, this is a restricted area, please keep away”, “Warning, this is a no parking zone”, “Warning, this is a no parking zone, please keep away”, “Attention Please, this area is under surveillance”, “Welcome, please notice this area is under surveillance”, “Welcome”, “Danger, Please Keep away”, Siren & “Danger, Please keep away”.
You can choose to adjust the volume of the audible warning as well as how many times it is repeated.
SMART EVENTS
Choose to make your triggered events even smarter by activating certain behavioral smart features in the camera. For example, the camera has line crossing detection which means you can draw a line on the camera’s field of view and when a human or vehicle crosses that line, it will trigger an event.
Other features include “Scene Change Detection” which means someone could be physically trying to take the camera down. “Intrusion Detection” allows you to draw an area on the screen and if any human or vehicle enters this area, an event is triggered, you can also adjust the dwell time before the event is triggered with this feature. “Region Entrance Detection” which is much like intrusion detection but with no adjustable dwell time. “Region Exit Detection” which would allow you to be notified when an object actually leaves a drawn out area on the field of view.
4MP RESOLUTION
The BLS-DETERRENCE-DM2 captures video up to a resolution of 4MP @ 30 FPS, which is 2560×1440 pixels. To put this in perspective, FHD (Full High Definition) is 2 megapixels, or 1920×1080 pixels. These cameras don’t have a high resolution, but they’re faster and more affordable. On the other end of the spectrum, 4K Ultra HD resolution is 8MP. These produce crazy high resolution video, but can be slower and much more expensive. So at 4MP, this camera is a pretty good blend of both. It has a higher resolution than FHD cameras without the cost of 4K UHD.
2.8MM FIXED LENS
The BLS-DETERRENCE-DM2 has a 2.8mm Fixed Lens. That means it’s fixed at one length; it can’t optically zoom in and out. The longer the focal length on a fixed lens camera, the more zoomed in it is and the more close-up detail you’ll be able to see. But the shorter the focal length, the wider the field of view and the more area your surveillance will cover.
The BLS-DETERRENCE-DM2 has a fixed length of 2.8mm, giving it a horizontal field of view of 104°.
100′ NIGHT VISION IR RANGE
When the sun goes down or the lights go out, this camera switches on its own onboard infrared LED lights. These lights, which are invisible to the human eye, allow the camera to continue functioning and recording video 24/7, day or night. And since its IR range covers up to 100 feet, you’re not going to miss anything that happens on your camera’s feeds, even if it happens in pitch-black darkness.
REMOTE ACCESS
The BLS-DETERRENCE-DM2 is a part of our Advanced-Series line of products. As such, it’s packed with features that would please a power user, yet it’s simple enough to operate for a novice. Easily view and manage your cameras and recorders anywhere in the world with the free mobile and desktop applications. For the power user, these apps give you the power to adjust advanced settings on the fly. For the novice, you can use the apps to simply view live feeds and play back recorded video. Whatever you need to accomplish, it’s all right there at your fingertips.
PLUG & PLAY
If you’re creating a new system out of our Advanced-Series cameras, set up is insanely easy with our Advanced-Series line of POE NVRs. Simply plug the camera into the back of the Advanced-Series NVR and you have instant video on the recorder’s HDMI interface. You can also view and manage the NVR through free desktop and mobile apps, such as Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200.
ONVIF COMPATIBILITY
If you want to add this camera to a security system already set up, that’s no problem. This camera complies with the protocols set by the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF). This means, as long as your current recorder is ONVIF compatible, you’ll be able to set this camera up with your current system.
